If You're A Fan Of Singer Alan Doyle, Go See Robin Hood

Doyle, the lead singer and songwriter for Newfoundland's folk pop superstars Great Big Sea, can be seen in the new Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe movie. Several years ago Doyle struck up a friendship with Crowe when he wrote and co-produced a number of songs on the actor's album My Hand, My Heart. Out of that collaboration came the chance for Doyle to play Allan A'Dayle, the chronicler of Robin Hood's Nottingham adventures, and one of the best known Merry Men. With no professional acting experience to speak of, Doyle spent last summer in Surrey, Wales and at the legendary Shepparton Studios, and learned to be an expert archer in the process.

As for his first career, Great Big Sea's ninth album, Fortune's Favour, will be released on June 24th.
