American Comedy "Brooklyn 99" Is Getting Frenchified For Canadian Streaming

The longtime FOX and current NBC network staple that will premiere its 8th season sometime in 2021, has been remade as a French-Canadian show, "Escouade 99". It will air on the Club Illico streaming service, launching September 17th.

Set in Quebec, it will feature a multi-racial cast. However, unlike the American version, it won't feature any Latinos, which Cuban-American actress Melissa Fumero, who plays Amy Santiago on "Brooklyn 99", calls "white washing", but notes that the Latino population in Quebec is quite small.
