The Very Friendly Skies

Last January, two Canadians, overcome by passion or just bad judgment, decided to give in while on an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Halifax. Jason George Chase, 39, and Alicia Elizabeth Lander, 25, were each charged with indecent acts for their entry into the Mile High Club after being caught by a flight attendant not fooled by a coat covering up the amourous twosome. Lander pleaded not guilty and her trial commenced earlier this week.

At trial, John Dunn, the service director on the Jan. 24 Air Canada flight, gave graphic testimony of the encounter in court Wednesday. According to the Canadian Press, Dunn testified that Lander's "pants were down around her ankles”with her thong showing. He asked her to put her breasts back inside of her bra, he said. After she complied he separated Lander and Chase.

The two were met by Mounties at the gate. Lander became aggressive at the airport, knocking down a sliding door, hitting a police officer and finally knocking holes into walls, according to one of the RCMPs. He also reported that she "reeked of alcohol."

On top of the indecent acts charge, Lander was charged with assaulting a police officer, committing an act of mischief and causing a disturbance. Her trial will continue on March 3. Chase, who originally pled not guilty but changed his plea, will have his day in court on March 27th.
