Saturday Night's All Right For A Prison Escape

Last evening a little before 8:00 PM, three prisoners made a getaway from Orsainville Detention Center outside of Quebec City when a helicopter landed in one of the prison yards and took off with the men aboard. They have not yet been recaptured. According to provincial police, the escapees as Serge Pomerleau, 49, Yves Denis, 35, and Denis Lefebvre, 53. They were awaiting trial on drug chargers as well as murder and gangsterism. As per the CBC, police believe they were likely dropped in the forest that borders the prison.

This is the second incident in less than two years at a Quebec prison involving prisoners and a helicopter escape. In March 2013 a pilot was forced at gunpoint to pick up prisoners from Saint-Jérôme, with the men getting apprehended within a few hours.
