Demonstrating that Parliament has both a sense of humour and an interest in preparedness, Winnipeg Parliament member Pat Martin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird address concerns about a possible zombie encroachment from south of the border. Martin was responding to a news report that Quebec had employed a hypothetical zombie scenario for a disaster-planning exercise. In speaking with the Canadian Press, Denis Landry, director of disaster recovery for Quebec's civil security department explained, "When we're talking about zombies, we're talking about a training concept."
