Michelle Valberg had the opportunity to shoot her photo of air balloon flying between two columns of an iceberg when she camped out near Artic Bay, Nunavut in June. A Mexican tourist had hired her and the Toronto-based company Arctic Kingdom, to take his family around the remote north region. They camped for nine days before weather conditions allowed for the balloon, which the tourist had reserved to get amazing views of the area, to take flight. Valberg's image was nominated in the National Geographic Traveler reader photo contest. Winners will be announced later this month.
Check out the photo and listen to an interview with Valberg.
