Christopher Plummer Wins An Academy Award At Last

The esteemed thespian became the oldest Oscar winner late last night at the 84th Annual Academy Awards when at 82, he picked up up statue for Best Support Actor for his role in Beginners.

Before Plummer's historic victory, the last 80-somethings to win were Jessica Tandy in 1989 for Driving Miss Daisy and George Burns in 1975 for The Sunshine Boys.

Upon taking the stage Plummer exclaimed, "You’re only two years older than me, darling. Where have you been all my life? I have a confession to make. When I first emerged from my mother’s womb, I was already rehearsing my Oscar speech.”
