Degrassi Rolling Out Historic 11th Season

The teen show, whose origins date back to the 1980s when it was Degrassi Junior High, is currently in production on 45 new half-hour episodes and will air over the summer on TeenNick in the US. They'll run in the same telenovela format the network employed last summer, airing the episodes Monday-Thursday. Last year, that gave the channel its best quarter in total viewers, up 27 percent.
