Another Sign Of Canadian Superiority: We're Skinnier Than Americans

A recent report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that obesity rates in the US are significantly higher than in Canada. In this country, 34% are obese but in Canada the rate is only 24%. The disparity may stem from the differing cultural makeup of the two countries. The US has higher black and Latino populations, both of which have high obesity levels. When comparing just the respective white populations, America still comes in higher with 33% while Canada is at 26%.

A 2006 Harvard Medical Study found that Americans are 42% more likely than Canadians to have diabetes, 32% more likely to have high blood pressure and 12% more likely to have arthritis.
