It's Time For The Annual Crop of Exported Summer Television Shows

Rather than venture out during this heat wave, camp out in front of the television with returning favourites and newbies:

Debuting this Saturday on CBS is The Bridge, a Wire-esque police drama. It stars Aaron Douglas, late of Battlestar Galactica.

Rookie Blue, which premiered last month on Thursday night on ABC, is the most watched new show this summer, cracking the Nielsen Top 20. The program centers on recent police academy grads. It stars Canadians Miss Peregrym (Reaper) and Gregory Smith (Everwood).

Flashpoint, now airing its third season on CBS on Friday nights, is a drama about a tactical team trained in negotiating and profiling. It's inspired by Toronto's Emergency Task Force). The show features a number of Canadian actors, including lead Enrico Colantoni.
