Anvil Gets Snubbed By The Academy Awards

Last month, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voters picked their 15 documentaries for the Best Documentary competition shortlist and Anvil: The Story of Anvil was left off, much to the outrage of critics and fans. There are 151 members of the documentary branch although it's unclear how many watch the films and create the list.

However, Anvil did pick up a Spirit Award nomination last week. And on Friday night, The International Documentary Association named Anvil documentary of the year.
