Canada Going For Fifth Straight Gold At World Juniors Tonight

On Saturday, Canada defeated Russia in a shootout, winning 6-5. The Canadians took the lead and lost it three times, then watched Russia take the lead with 2:20 left in regulation. Then with 5.4 seconds on the clock, Canada went ahead. They will face Sweden, who beat Slovakia 5-4 over the weekend, scoring three goals in a span of 4:28 in the third period. Last year, Sweden lost in overtime to Canada and have blood on the brain. The team hasn't won a gold since 1981. A crowd of 20,000 is expected at Ottawa's Scotiabank Place. Keep an eye out for Mikael Backlund, a Calgary Flames prospect playing for Sweden. The face off is on for 7:30.
