The lovely and seemingly ageless Viggo Mortensen (a Montreal Canadiens fan) gets the spotlight in this week's Entertainment Weekly as he laments the snubbing of David Cronenberg at last year's Academy Awards for A History of Violence. You might want to shield your eyes during the four-minute sequence in Eastern Promises where he's doing the fully frontal during a fight scene. Go to ew.com for a video interview from the Toronto Film Fest with the actor.
And on a personal note, a friend of mine has suggested that I've cornered the market on having the most jingoistic pro-Canada blog. Vote now! Wonder if I can get a banner for that kind of thing.

I love Viggo Mortenson. He is an artist too, I believe. Didn't know he was Canadian?
Nope, just a Canadian by association. He's a native NYer.
