On the final day of the festival, Cronenberg and Co. picked up the People's Choice Award (not to be confused with the lame American awards show also by the same name). Onto Academy Award glory!
In other TFF award news, the Toronto-City Award for best Canadian feature went to Guy Maddin for My Winnipeg his personal portrait of his hometown. So much better than having that awful Jennifer Lopez (I know, redundant) Shall We Dance film there a few years back. Big ups to all my cousins in the 'peg. Stephane Lafleur's Continental, un film sans fusil won the prize for the best debut feature film by a Canadian.
