Canada Thwarts Terrorist Plot
This morning, Canadian security forces stopped an attempt to blow up a Via passenger rail line between Canada and the U.S. in the Toronto area. Two men, Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, of Montreal, and Raed Jaser, 35, from Toronto have been charged with conspiracy to carry out a terrorist attack
and "conspiring to murder persons unknown for the benefit of, at the
direction of, or in association with a terrorist group," according to the CBC. The two are not Canadian citizens, but their countries of origin are not publicly known. They are expected to appear at Old City Hall courthouse in Toronto tomorrow.
