Avril Lavigne, 27, has been keeping her latest relationship under wraps. The singer is newly engaged to fellow Canadian singer Chad Kroeger, 37, frontman for Nickelback. The two have been dating for six months. It's a courtship that flew under the radar, the news of them being involved a surprise to fans and media outlets. Their romance started when the two got together this winter to co-write a song set to appear on Lavigne's upcoming fifth album. Kroeger, an Alberta native, has never been married, but Lavigne was married for three years to another Canadian artist, Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. They divorced in 2009. According to People magazine, Kroeger proposed with a 14-carat diamond ring on August 8th.
