The province's Energy Resources Conservation Board reported yesterday the newest leak that occurred on Monday on the Enbridge's Athabasca pipeline. The pipeline is located approximately 24km southeast of Elk Point. Enbridge estimated a release of about 230ml of crude oil, a figure not yet confirmed by the ERCB.
The pipeline has been shut in and the pumping station was isolated. No waterways are believed to have been impacted and clean up has commenced.
There have also been spills on Red Deer River and Rainbow Lake.
