God Save The Queen

This week the world is celebrating Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee, commemorating her 60 years on the throne. Yesterday, revellers lined the Thames to watch a procession of 1000 vessels. The Queen,86, and Prince Phillip, 90, led the pageant aboard the Spirit of Chartwell, which was decked out in red, purple and gold velvet for the 11-kilometer extravaganza. In total they passed under 14 bridges, wrapping up at the Tower Bridge.

Guiness World Records said the event set a record for the largest parade of boats, besting Germany's record last year of 327.

There was just one Canadian-built boat, The Canada One canoe, which was powered by eight paddlers.

Before the grand celebration wraps up, there will be a live outdoor concert with Paul McCartney and Elton John and a service tomorrow at St. Paul's Cathedral.

A video with some flotilla footage and an interview with James Raffan, who is head of the Canada One Crew.
