Ion Television Saves Flashpoint From The Cancelation Pile

The network, home to current and former programs in syndication like Psych and Without a Trace, has picked up the Canadian drama. The show had been airing in the US on CBS for the last few summers, through this season. It's about officers in the Strategic Response Unit, a tactical team skilled in profiling and negotiating. Flashpoint stars a number of Canadian actors, including Enrico Colantoni and Hugh Dillon.

It's the most watched drama series in Canada, airing on CTV, and averaging 1.5 million viewers. With five seasons and 80 episodes, it's one of the longest-running original scripted series currently airing on Canadian television.

The new season premieres on Ion October 18th.
