24 Is Over (For Now), But Kiefer Sutherland Is Having A Good Year

The actor, getting a much-needed break after the rigors of shooting his television show for eight years, is turning to the Web and stage.

He's currently in rehearsals for the opening of a revival of That Championship Season on Broadway with Brian Cox, Chris Noth and his former romantic rival Jason Patric. The play, written by Jason Miller, Patric's father, opened in 1972 and went on to win the Tony and the Pulitzer Prize. Previews begin in February.

In March you can catch The Confession, a 10-episode scripted-action web series debuting on Hulu. Sutherland shot it over nine days last month in New York. The show follows a hitman (Sutherland) having a theological discussion with a priest (John Hurt) about his vocation and his victims. The Confession is based on Sutherland's own idea.

A movie version of 24 is still in the works.
