Canadian Wins 2010 World Series Of Poker

Last week in Las Vegas at the Penn and Teller Theatre, Jonathan Duhamel of Quebec, beat out 7,319 entrants to play his way to victory. The tournament commenced in July with each player ponying up $10K and Duhamel walked away with a prize purse of $8.94M.

At university, Duhamel was a math whiz and finance major, and ultimately dropped out at 19 to become a pro on the circuit. Now 23, he's the first Canadian to earn the title to poker's main event.

From his winnings, 30% goes to the government, but Duhamel has set aside $100K for the Montreal Canadiens' Children's Foundation.
