This week, Ion Television premieres the pilot of Canadian drama Durham County. The first two seasons, filmed in Cornwall, Ontario and Montreal, have aired north of the border and Americans have the opportunity to catch repeat showings of the first episode all this week. The series, rich with a cast of Canadian talent, stars Canadian actor Hugh Dillon, most recently seen on another Canadian program, Flashpoint, that CBS ran this summer and last.

And tomorrow night is the debut of the much buzzed about Vampire Diaries on the CW from writer-producer Kevin Williamson. Nina Dobrev (late of Degrassi: The Next Generation) transitions from those halls to more bloodless American ones.
