The Proposal Opens Tomorrow

The comedy, starring Sandra Bullock and Vancouverite Ryan Reynolds (Entertainment Weekly's current coverboy), is about a ballbreaking Canadian businesswoman about to be deported who has to get hitched to an American to keep her big deal corporate job and stay in the US. Hilarity ensues from there. Reynolds, going against typecasting, plays her American underling, although he is from Alaska, which is sort of like being from Canada. Sadly, the movie was filmed neither in Alaska nor Canada.
