From the Sierra Club: In response to President Obama's first international visit to Canada last Thursday, more than 30,000 Sierra Club activists signed a petition urging the President to advocate for clean energy and say no to further development of the dirty Canadian tar sands oil. In the meeting, President Obama acknowledged that Canadian tar sands oil “creates a big carbon footprint” and declared that the United States was going to demonstrate leadership on dealing with global warming pollution and advancing clean energy solutions. But oil companies are still trying to build a pipeline from Canada so they can sell us their tar sands oil, one of the dirtiest fuels on the planet. Let President Obama and the State Department know you want clean energy that creates jobs in the United States instead of permitting a pipeline to pollution.
