The Big Wild: Take Your Breath Away

Check out the photos of The Yukon taken in June and July by a group of Canadian and American adventurers and wilderness conservationists. They're from a 14-day paddling trip close to the Arctic Circle on the Snake River that in part supported a preservation campaign raising money to protect Canada's natural state. Big Wild is also the name of an activist social network founded by The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society and Mountain Equipment Co-Op.

To learn more about the network and their efforts on behalf of the country's wilderness, start at http://blog.nau.com/ and http://www.thebigwild.org/Default.aspx

For more photos and video of the trip and to learn about sponsoring the Yukon team, who are looking to raise $4,000 (up to $1,250 so far): http://www.thebigwild.org/ViewChallenge.aspx?publicKey=68caa35d0a3d73d4

STUNNING pics! The one with the Dall sheep reminds me of the Camels in the Negev in Israel. You don't quite know what you're looking at at first, and suddenly you make them out. DOZENS of them!
