Healey, blind from a lifelong fight against cancer starting at age 1, was best known for the hit song "Angel Eyes." It was on the Jeff Healey Band's 1988 album See the Light. He taught himself to play the guitar and became a teen music prodigy, playing with George Harrison, B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan. More recently he had hosted radio shows in Canada, calling on songs from his personal collection of over 30,000 vinyl records. His first rock album in eight years, Mess of Blues, will be released on April 22nd.
