Poutine vs. Disco Fries: The Controversy Rages On!

To make up for not posting since Sunday, you get two today.

Amazingly, just had my first platter of disco fries the other night at the Waverly Restaurant. They were tasty, plentiful and cheap, but of course, the poor man's/American's also-ran to poutine. A few months ago, I had excellent poutine at the new Meat Packing District restaurant, Inn on W 12th. But for $13, it damn well better achieve perfection.

So I'm throwing it out there now: what are the merits of each, what are the key differences and where are the best spots stateside and NOTB (that's shorthand for Canada) to get either?
